Interested in buying compost worms in Vermont? The worms we use for our own vermicomposting and offer for sale are red wiggler worms, Eisenia fetida. You might also see them referred to as red worms, manure worms, brandling worms, red wrigglers, and compost worms. Red wiggler worms are ideal for vermiculture and vermicomposting because they eat and reproduce quickly, and thrive in conditions which are easily produced in a vermicompost bin.

We aren’t currently doing Internet or mail-order sales of red wigglers. As live animals, compost worms can be tricky to ship. Just check out our experience getting our first order! Red Wiggler Compost Worms: $25/lb at the Burlington South End Farmers Market
We sell compost worms at $25/lb. “Wow!”, you say, “That’s pretty pricey for worms!” Actually, our price to buy worms locally is better than most anything you’ll find ordering them online. While keeping a small home worm bin is easy, producing large quantities of worms is a lot of work. Prices online range from $25-$40/lb, and then the worms still need to spend several days in the mail! For comparison, we’ve listed some worm prices we found online in a quick search:

We’ve never seen worms offered for less than $25/lb with shipping included. If you find a better price, let us know!
